Our Readers Write Policy
Letters to the editor are welcome and encouraged. Letters must contain a signature and either an address or phone number for confirmation purposes. Signatures will be used on all letters. We reserve the right to edit any statements we feel may be libelous. Please follow the guidelines of good taste and brevity (letters should be no more than 300 words in length).
How to Submit News
In order to more effectively serve our
community, the Monroe County Beacon requests that notices and news
releases be submitted to the following guidelines:
- Submit all news material as soon as possible and include name/telephone of one contact person
- Make sure hand-written news is clear and legible. If typed, please double space.
- All news concerning business, schools, churches, community organizations, opinions, etc., will be published as soon as possible
- There is a charge for births, weddings, engagements, anniversaries and obituaries. Submit a contact person and phone number with these articles. They will not be published until approval for payment is provided.
- All news and opinion is subject to editing.
- Submitted photos to be reproduced by the Beacon must be in focus and not too light or too dark. Most computer-generated photos can be used. All persons in photos must be correctly identified with the correct spellings of both first and last names.
- News or photos may be emailed to monroecountybeacon@sbcglobal.net; mailed to the Monroe County Beacon, P.O. Box 70 - Woodsfield, OH 43793 or submitted at our office in person at 103 E. Court St. in Woodsfield.
